Fortnite is one of the most popular video games in the world, and the Avengers movies are some of the most popular superhero films. With a new Avengers film landing this week, Fortnite is having a crossover event. The Fortnite/Avengers: Endgame crossover kicks off on April 25, which is the day before the movie hits theaters.
Fortnite and Marvel are offering no details on exactly what the crossover will bring at the time. All we have to go on is an image that shows a Fortnite character holding Captain America's shield. It would be easy enough to assume there will be some Avengers: Endgame skins to collect and other Avengers items.
The crossover event isn't all that is going on in the Fortnite world right now. Earlier this month Fortnite patch 8.30 landed and brought with it Reboot Vans and a High Explosives LTM. The Reboot Vans allow squadmates to revive fellow players killed in combat if they hurry. We have also recently talked about all the puzzle pieces and treasure map signposts that players can search out.
Players who find all the puzzle pieces form an image of something that quickly disappears after a few seconds teasing a future event in the game. Completing the puzzle quest earns you battle stars as does finding the treasure map signposts. Epic has also been banning players for cheating during the Fortnite World Cup event.
So far, Epic has banned 1,163 accounts from competitive play for circumventing region locks. There were 48 banned accounts for account sharing, and one person who made it to the Fortnite World Cup semifinals used cheat software and was banned permanently from the game. In that case of that particular cheating participant, they only made it for five minutes before they were caught by software.
