[email protected] With The Playstation 3
Now that current and next generation consoles are equipped with processing power equal to a high end PC, we're able to do more than just simply play games on these devices. Now you can actually put your console to good use while its sitting idle, as Stanford's [email protected] project may soon be available for the PS3(once the PS3 is out, of course). [email protected] is a program which uses spare CPU cycles to simulate the folding of proteins, in an attempt to help find cures for many of todays worst disease, such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease. The Playstation 3 version of [email protected] will also contain some interesting graphical enhancements as well.
If you like the idea of [email protected], you can head on over to the [email protected] section of our PC Hardware forums to find out how to get started.
