AT&T has just announced a couple of great deals involving LG's brand-new G5 smartphone and Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE smartwatch. With the former, AT&T is offering a second G5 for free, as part of a buy-one-get-one free promotion. That assumes that you'll be signing up to AT&T Next with both devices; once the credit hits $689, that second device becomes free.
If that sounds a little too good to be true, it isn't, but, because of how the mechanics works, both phones need to purchased at the same time, which is quite a bit to shell out initially. But, if you take advantage of the deal and feel you're not spending quite enough money, you might be interested in a side deal AT&T is offering in which you can purchase an LG G5, and get the Urbane 2nd Edition LTE smartwatch for $99.99 on a two-year agreement when you opt for AT&T Next.
For those wanting nothing but a single LG G5, AT&T says it will be priced at $22.97/mo for well-qualified buyers when subscribing to the AT&T Next 24 program.
LG's G5 is interesting thanks in part to its modular design that lets you connect to companion devices that LG calls "LG Friends". We're not quite sure exactly where the LG Friends platform will ultimately go, but there is major potential. Another major perk is the fact that the G5 has become one of only a few current-generation, high-end phones that lets users remove the battery. In fact, LG went the extra mile here, because swapping the battery is as simple as sliding it out of the bottom of the phone. We think other vendors need to take note, because that's a crazy convenient solution.
If you want to take advantage of any one of these deals, you won't want to waste too much time. AT&T says this particular promotion will be available for only a "limited time"; how limited that will be is anyone's guess at this point, however.
