ATI Brings High-End Multimedia Entertainment to the Latest PCs; New All-in-Wonder(R) Addresses Global Consumer Audience Needs

MARKHAM, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 5, 2005--Computer users can experience the highest level of multimedia performance with the new All-In-Wonder(R) X800 XL for PCI Express from ATI Technologies Inc. (TSX:ATY)(NASDAQ:ATYT). This newest addition to the award-winning All-In-Wonder(R) family supports both European and North American users. All-In-Wonder X800 XL supports the PCI Express standard, which is offered in almost all new PCs. For additional PC multimedia entertainment, ATI is now enabling full support for Microsoft Windows Media Center Edition with the current All-In-Wonder family. All-In-Wonder X800 XL for PCI Express will be available in both North America and Europe later this summer.

For European customers, All-In-Wonder X800 XL PCI Express will enable analog TV reception along with reception of Digital Video Broadcasting for Terrestrial (DVB-T) television transmissions. DVB-T is becoming the major form of TV broadcast transmissions in Europe. It offers more channels and delivers a better picture and sound quality through a conventional antenna instead of a cable or satellite dish connection.

"This is the year consumers embrace PCI Express high-quality performance and ATI is ready to deliver leading multimedia solutions for those consumers," said Paul Lypaczewski, Vice-President & General Manager, Multimedia Business Unit, ATI Technologies Inc. "As a global company, ATI is working hard to meet the needs of multimedia computer users around the world with examples like SCART and DVB-T support for Europe. ATI delivers outstanding innovative multimedia video products, such as All-In-Wonder X800 XL, that transform the PC into a global entertainment solution."  Read More...
