Archos Launches Gen10 XS Tablet Line with QWERTY Keyboard Dock
One of those new tablets is the Archos 101 XS, a 10.1-inch slate that weighs a mere 21 ounces and measures 0.31 inches (8 millimeters) thick. It boasts a 1280x800 resolution, ARM-based A9 processor clocked at 1.9GHz, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and promises to deliver an unadulterated Android experience. At launch it will ship with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, though Archos says it will push out an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update in Q4 of this year.
"As the pioneer in the Android tablet market, we strive to continually push the technological boundaries of tablets and user experience,: says Henri Crohas, ArchosFounder and CEO. "We are taking our tablets to the next level by releasing an entirely new design that will redefine thin while providing more functionality and a better price than any current Android tablet in the market."
Launching alongside the new tablets is Archos' magnetic Coverboard that serves as a cover, stand, dock, and full-size QWERTY keyboard. It's 0.2 inches thick and twists to reveal the keyboard, which you can type on with the tablet propped up by a magnetic kickstand.
The Archos 101 XS will launch in November starting at $400 MSRP.
