Apple BeatsX Wireless Earphones Reportedly Delayed Up to 3 Months Following AirPods Debacle

If this latest report is accurate, it appears that the AirPods aren’t the only Bluetooth audio device from Apple that is running into delays. Apple announced both the AirPods and the Beats by Dr. Dre BeatsX wireless earphones at September’s iPhone 7 keynote, and it now appears that the latter is also running into shipmentdelays.

This news stems from an email that a customer allegedly received from B&H Photo Video, which reads:

This email is being sent in regards to your order for 1 of the Beats by Dr. Dre BeatsX In-Ear Headphones (Black).

We regret to inform you that the manufacturer has informed us that they still do not know when they will begin shipping this item but they do know that it will take at least 2-3 months. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this delay has caused you.

Apple first said that the BeatsX would ship in the Fall, and the company still has a few days to make that launch window. However, this email from B&H Photo Video shows that anyone looking to give the wireless earphones as a Christmas gift might want to start looking for other alternatives.

The Beats by Dr. Dre BeatsX wireless earphones will be available in black or white, and provide up to 8 hours of listening time. Apple also says that a 5-minute charge is enough to give you 2 hours of battery life. A number of tips are included to customize the fit in your ears, and the Flex-Form cable “provides all-day comfort”. Once available, they will be priced at $149.95.
