The next event in Apex Legends is the Voidwalker themed, and will happen September 3rd through the 17th. The event will center on Wraith's past, and it will bring with it lots of content, including a new town takeover, a limited-time mode, challenges, and more. Voidwalker will also have a limited-time mode called Armed and Dangerous.
The Armed and Dangerous limited-time mode limits available weapons to snipers and shotguns and loot is harder to come by. EA is asking Apex Legends players to keep a lookout for in-game surveys and to give feedback. It says the plan is to roll out more of these modes in the future.
The Wraith Town Takeover starts with Syndicate construction crews uncovering part of a decayed Project: Wraith facility in Kings Canyon. Players can jump in and discover the remains of the research site, including a functional portal that can be used for getting a jump on the base or to escape and skydive back in. There are hidden lore details in the environment.
Apex Legends will have event challenges with free loot for players to earn. Challenges will allow players to unlock exclusive skins and Wraith-themed content with all challenges and rewards limited to the two-week event. Players can buy a set of themed cosmetics like the Voidwaler Wraith Legendary, which includes a custom character select animation.
Apex Legends seems to have heard the outcry about items being too expensive in the Iron Crown event. For Voidwalker all themed cosmetics are $5, and the items are event limited, making them eligible to return six months after the event ends on September 17th. The image below shows the rotation for the themed items.
Apex Legends devs are also adding six new legendary items to the core loot pool that can be crafted or obtained via packs. Other nice Voidwalker boosts for players include double XP for Top 5 finishes and wins. The bonus will affect Account level and Battle Pass progression. The double XP weekend happens from 10 am PT on September 6th to 10th am PT on September 9th.
