AOpen Combo Drive, Scythe Fanless Mini PC, Asus Mobo and Others
Good evening everyone, welcome back to HH. The news front has slowed down for the day, thus it is time for our daily wrap-up. Go grab a drink and settle in, here is the HH Nightcap.
"In this review, PCstats.com is testing the new AOpen COM5232 CD-RW/DVD combo drive. The AOpen COM5252 is capable of burning CD-R media at 52x speeds and CD-RW media at 32x. Reading CD-ROM material hums along at 52x, and the drive can also read DVD's at 16x. Combo drives are generally great for those who need the storage capacity of a CD burner and the ability to read DVD's at the same time. As a bonus, the Aopen com5232 also comes with removeable face plates so you can mix with your case.
"The Scythe e-OTONASHI Fanless Mini PC Case could never be classified as just another Mini-ITX case not by any stretch of the imagination. There is one thing alone that separates it from all of its competition and that being the use of Heatlane™ Technology cooling. Where other cases depend upon case air flow and minuscule fans, Scythe has come up with a cooling system that takes the heat completely away from the processor as well as out of the case."
"Seen here as the blue plate on the right side of the motherboard, StackCool is a metal plate that is attached to the capacitors on the opposite side of the motherboard and thus draws some of the heat away from them and the north bridge chipset. This allows the heat to be spread over a larger area and thus be cooled somewhat faster."
"One of the most popular reviews here at ExtremeMHz was the Optorite DD0203. This drive introduced Optorite's exclusive HD-Burn Technology which offered the capability of writing up to 1.4GB of data onto a 700MB CDR. It was a cost-effective method of data storage that made it one of the most popular drives on the market. Its media compatibility was great, but its slow load times, mediocre ripping performance and numerous problems regarding firmware were some of the issues with the drive. Today, we look at their faster 12x DVD writer, the DD1203. Featuring faster DVD and CDR write speeds and continued support for HD-Burn Technology, this drive looks much more promising. Let's take it for a spin and see what it has to offer."
"Today we are going to take a closer look at the performance and features of 21 hard disk drives from such well-known storage device manufacturers as Western Digital, Samsung, Seagate, Maxtor and Hitachi. We will test the solutions with 160GB storage capacity to find out which one is the today's best, fastest and most attractive choice."
That is all I have friends, catch me back here in the AM :) - Cheers
