The Ryzen 5 2600 is a respectable gaming chip based on AMD's 12nm Zen+ microarchitecture. It features 6 physical cores capable of executing 12 total threads. The processor has a base clock of 3.4GHz and can boost to 3.9GHz. Other specs include 16MB of cache, support for dual-channel DDR4-2933 memory and a TDP of 65 watts. The Ryzen 5 2700 will get the best performance with a X470 motherboard, but is backwards compatible with X370. It will also work in the forthcoming X570 motherboards, which will support PCIe 4.0 and Ryzen 3000 Series 7nm Zen 2 processors.
