Amazon has overhauled its Alexa hardware with five new devices, including the Echo Studio with a camera, Echo Show 16 with a sizeable 16-inch display, and the introduction of the Alexa Photo Frame. Just in time to build the hype for the holiday season, then.

Arguably the centerpiece of this Alexa blitz is the flagship Echo Show 16. Boasting a 16-inch HD panel (take that, Apple HomeView) that integrates Fire TV, the newly thinned display shaves down bulk while expanding the active viewing area by roughly 10%. The device also introduces improved visual mapping and customized screen info to function as an interactive family command center.

For those looking for an Alexa device that integrates better with their home decor, there's the all-new Alexa Photo Frame. Available in a black finish or real wood options like birch and walnut, this 10-inch smart display curates photos from Amazon Photos. And worry not, the Photo Frame isn't just a pretty face, as users can interact with the frame using voice notes or query Alexa just like they would with another other Alexa product.

Alexa's audio hardware has also received a few updates. The heavy-hitting Echo Studio now sports a 13MP Home Camera for discrete domestic monitoring and visual intelligence purposes. The lens allows for live room check-ins, pet tracking, and advanced object recognition, as well as leverages spatial acoustics and ambient sensors to tune audio output based on how many people are in the room and where they are standing.

Meanwhile, the ubiquitous Echo Dot has been reimagined for an expanded connectivity role. Priced at $99, the compact puck now integrates a smart home hub supporting Zigbee, Thread, and Matter standards, while also doubling as an active Wi-Fi extender for Eero router setups. Equipped with an upgraded AZ3 processor, it claims to deliver faster, more natural voice interactions alongside enhanced microphone noise reduction.

And then there's the Echo Time, a bedside smart clock that helps you to optimize your sleep. Instead of having you don fitness trackers or smartwatches, the device's contactless sleep-sensing monitors rest cycles and gently wake users during optimal light-sleep windows. However, you will need to have a second Echo Time if your partners need sleep tracking as well.
