Amazon ‘Prime Exclusive’ Moto G Play Arrives Stateside For $100
Today, Amazon is adding a third member to the Prime Exclusive family: the Moto G Play. The Moto G Play is the cheapest member of Lenovo’s revamped “G” family and is equipped with a budget Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, 5-inch 720p display, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, microSD slot (up to 128GB), 8MP rear camera, 5mp front-facing camera, and a 2800 mAh battery. The smartphone is running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, although we’re hopeful that it will receive an upgrade to Android 7.0 Nougat in the future. You’ll also be happy to know that the Moto G Play is compatible with Verizon Wireless, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint.
When it comes to pricing, Amazon is selling the Moto G Play to Prime members for $99.99, which is $50 below the MSRP. That’s definitely attractive pricing for an unlocked device from a well-known brand, and apparently Amazon customers have been flocking to these low-cost devices. “Unlocked phones are the fastest growing category within cell phones on Amazon—and now our Prime exclusive phones are our best-selling unlocked phones,” said Laura Orvidas, Amazon’s VP for Consumer Electronics.
The Prime Exclusive Moto G Play is only available in black. If you want white, you’ll have to pony up $50 for the ad-free version. With that said, you can pre-order the phone today, and it will be released on September 15th.
