Acer Ships Iconia Tab A500 Honeycomb Tablet

Earlier this month, we told you the Acer Iconia Tab A500, the company's first 10.1-inch tablet in the new Acer Iconia family, would be available starting April 24. As promised, Acer has delivered this Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) tablet on schedule.

As you'll recall, the Iconia Tab A500 supports a resolution of 1280×800 on its 10.1-inch screen. The tablet is powered by an Nvidia Tegra 250 1GHz dual-core processor. It has 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of flash storage. There's also a microSD slot for additional storage. You'll find a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera on this tablet.

All in all, the Iconia Tab A500 has many similar hardware features to the Motorola Xoom, though Acer has the benefit of a lower price (about $450) and also features a brushed aluminum back.

The Acer Iconia Tab A500 is available at Best Buy.
