Acer Makes a Mid-Range Splash with Liquid E3 Smartphone and Entry Level Z4
Starting at the top, the Liquid E3 brings a 4.7-inch 720p HD IPS (In-Plane Switching) display to the smartphone market. Powering this puppy is a quad-core 1.2GHz processor, which Acer unfortunately paired with just 1GB of RAM instead of 2GB. Internal storage is a bit of a let down as well at just 4GB, though there's a microSD card slot to help rectify that.

The Liquid E3 also features a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash and "ultra-fast" focus time, while the front of the handset wields a 2-megapixel camera, also with LED flash (you know, so you can take selfies in the dark). All this comes wrapped in Android 4.2.2. Jelly Bean (Acer says it will update the OS to Android 4.4 KitKat not long after release).

Acer's other handset is the Liquid Z4 and it comes packing a 4-inch TFT display, 1.3GHz dual-core processor, 4GB of internal storage, 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash, and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. It's not clear if Acer will also update the Liquid Z4 to KitKat.
Both the Liquid E3 and Liquid Z4 are expected to land in Europe in April for €199 (around $273) and €99 (around $135), respectively.
