Acer Debuts Aspire AS5536 And AS7735Z Notebooks
Had enough of Acer's Aspire netbooks? Good, because the company has just revealed two new machines that are about as far as one can get from small, light and underpowered. The newest Aspire notebooks fall in the multimedia/gaming-centric Gemstone line, both incorporating 16:9 widescreen displays, Dolby surround sound and--gasp!--full size keyboards.
The 15.6" Acer Aspire AS5536 and 17.3" Aspire AS7735Z both feature LED backlit displays, NVIDIA graphics, a multi-gesture touchpad, Acer Backup Manager and a PowerSave Key that enables users to prolong battery life to extend uptime with a single button press. Each machine ships with Windows Vista Home Premium, up to 4GB of RAM, Intel or AMD CPUs, hard drives starting at 250GB and a Crystal Eye webcam.
