Acer Aspire Ethos Trackpad Functions As A Touchscreen As Well
The Acer Aspire Ethos range makes itself special with a touch-screen trackpad; yes, a trackpad you can actually see on. The display isn't 1080p or anything, but it does have enough pixels to show some basic functions and allow for certain tweaks right from the trackpad. It's certainly an amazing idea, and if executed well, it could change the way we think about keyboard shortcuts on the go.
The Aspire Ethos 8943G is loaded in other ways as well; there's a 1080p display, HDMI output, Blu-ray drive, an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5850 (or 5650) GPU, a fingerprint reader, Core i5 or i7 CPU, up to 16GB of DDR3 RAM and a lovely overall design. The trackpad is still more notable than all of that; users can press a toggle button, and the mouse function vanishes while touch sensitive buttons for controlling media pop up. In the future, these commands could correspond to just about anything. Ideas from the crowd, perhaps?
