Budget gamers rejoice because 8BitDo just expanded its popular value-focused gamepad line with the new Ultimate 3C+ Wireless Controller. Priced at just $39.99, 8BitDo's new controller impressively packs some high-end analog tech into its latest offering, including adjustable TMR joysticks to virtually eliminate the threat of stick drift.

A lot of third-party peripheral makers have embraced TMR joysticks, as found on solutions like 8BitDo's Ultimate 3E released earlier this year and also the Ultimate 2, though it's more rare on budget controllers. That isn't the case here. The Ultimate 3C+ combines adjustable-tension sticks with soft-stop silicone 'Dual Force' rings beneath each one for what 8BitDo claims is a more balanced and smoother-gliding feel. This is aided by a 12-bit ADC sampling chip and a 216MHz processor for more precise joystick control and faster response, 8BitDo says.

Beyond the analog sticks, 8BitDo managed to squeeze several pro-tier features into the Ultimate 3C+. Namely, the controller features switchable Hall Effect triggers that let users toggle between smooth linear action and non-linear tactile modes depending on the genre. You also get remappable L4 and R4 fast bumpers, trigger vibration, a wider grip angle, and a pair of lockable back paddles to prevent accidental misclicks.

Connectivity is powered by 8BitDo's proprietary "8Speed" 2.4GHz wireless tech for a 1ms response time and a 1,000Hz polling rate (with Bluetooth 5.4 supported for mobile devices), while a 500mAh battery delivers up to 20 hours of gameplay over 2.4GHz, or up to 32 hours with Bluetooth.

The 8BitDo Ultimate 3C+ Wireless Controller is available to preorder for $39.99 at Amazon in Stealth Black, Frost White, and Avocado Green colorways. It releases on October 30, 2026.
