Apple Watch Models And Pricing Confirmed, April 24 Availability, 18-Hour Battery Life

Well, it’s about time that we get some concrete details on battery life and pricing for the Apple Watch – Apple definitely delivered today at its keynote address, but the news is disappointing on many fronts. The Apple Watch will get 18 hours of battery life under typical usage scenarios, which Apple CEO Tim Cook says “works for most people.”

With the Pebble Time achieving 7 days of battery life and the Pebble Time Steel boosting that figure to 10 days, we don’t know if “works for most people” is the correct phrase to use here. But I digress…

Moving on to other important matters at hand, Cook also announced official pricing for the Apple Watch, and I hope that you have a seat nearby to rest your posterior. Apple has held firm to the $349 starting price for the Apple Watch Sport, but what it didn’t tell us before is that is only for the 38mm version. If you want the larger, 42mm casing, you will be forking over $399.

The Apple Watch is perhaps the biggest eye-opener as the stainless steel model will start at $549 and top out at $1,049 for the 38mm version depending on your section of bands. The 42mm version ranges from $599 to $1,099.

And for a full-blown heart attack special, the Apple Watch Edition is priced at a cool $10,000 and will be available in limited quantities. As for extra bands, they will run you from $49 for the fluoroelastomer band to $449 for the stainless still Link Bracelet.
