Samsung VP Confirms "Working Very Hard" On Development of Smartwatch
There are no details on the impending smartwatch, but it’s reasonable to assume that it will run a version of Android and may run some lightweight apps on its own as well as offer a measure of Bluetooth-enabled control over your smartphone, too.

Bloomberg quoted executive vice president of Samsung’s mobile business Lee Young Hee as saying, “We’ve been preparing the watch product for so long. We are working very hard to get ready for it. We are preparing products for the future, and the watch is definitely one of them.”
Samsung is wise to buckle down and get their watch out the door; Apple’s iWatch (which is what we’re calling it, because hey, why not) is rumored to hit the streets sometime in the next few months.

Sony SmartWatch
Of course, Sony’s $150 SmartWatch has been available since last summer, and that doesn’t seem to have caught on. Hopefully Apple and Samsung will deliver something more compelling.
