Although we doubt that there are many iPhone X owners out there that actually like the notch cutout from the top of the display, most have just learned to embrace it. The reason for the notch is due to the TrueDepth camera system that powers the Face ID facial recognition system. It's not very often that we hear Apple speak about rumors and the numerous reports concerning its products. However, if Apple does take the time to respond, it's often when a story widely misses the mark and casts an incredibly negative light on its products – especially a product that is just days away from launch. Such is the case with a report that appeared this morning suggesting that Apple told its suppliers to reduce the accuracy of the TrueDepth camera system used for the iPhone X's Face ID system in order to boost device shipments.
