Looking for a little NAND to mix in with your updated rig? Flash storage is becoming easier and easier to find these days, and Toshiba's making it even simpler. Call it a passing fad, a worthless technology designed to drive up movie theater ticket prices, or the greatest thing to happen to entertainment since the Two and a Half Geeks podcast, but whatever your view on the recent 3D frenzy, we can all agree that the dorky looking glasses need to go. Nintendo proved it could be done with the successful... Read more...
The onslaught of mobile monitors has calmed somewhat of late, but there's still a very real market for them and still lots of demand. While Mimo made a name for themselves by creating a stockpile of 7" and 10" USB monitors for those needing just a little more screen real estate on their laptops, Toshiba has just introduced one that's even... It's just a notebook, right? Well, not quite. Too many notebooks are too hard to distinguish these days, but Toshiba is doing a great job of making their newest notebook stand out. The Dynabook Qosmio T750 is a very unique machine. The internal specifications, while new, aren't totally spectacular, but the finish on... Read more...
When you generally think about storage, you think about sizes getting bigger and prices getting smaller. But there are always exceptions to the rule. Toshiba's new 1.8-inch hard drives fit that mold. They aren't the biggest, and they probably aren't the cheapest, and they definitely won't be as quick as your average... Read more...
Last night at Digital Experience, Toshiba gave us a closer look at the company's upcoming Android-powered tablet. It looks pretty sweet, with it's 10.1-inch widescreen display. We especially liked that this tablet has a built-in SD card reader as well as a mini USB connection and full-size HDMI and full-size USB ports. Under the hood, you'll... Read more...
The ultraportable notebook marketplace is hotter than ever before. In years past, buying a sub-14" machine generally meant a couple of things: low power and higher relative price. Today, it's still fair to say that ultraportables are generally less powerful and more expensive than the standard-sized 15" machines that sit above them, but the... Read more...

Tablets and 3D HDTVs have definitely hogged most of the spotlight in the gadget world throughout 2010. But a few other sectors have managed to do very well under dimmer limelight. E-readers and cameras have both had a big year, and with new classes of digital cameras hitting the market, Sony realizes that there's a giant opportunity to take... Read more...
The growth in solid state drive adoption has been impressive, but it's probably not even close to finished. There are still loads of HDDs that need switched over to SSDs (in a perfect, performance-oriented world), and Toshiba is trying to take SSDs to a place where they have rarely been welcomed. The enterprise. In more recent months, enterprise... Read more...
Toshiba was forced to suspend production on its line of NAND flash memory chips at its Yokkaichi factory in Mie prefecture earlier this week due to a power failure. This factory is used solely to produce chips that are used in smartphones and other gadgets. This outage will likely affect the company's output of NAND flash memory used in tablets... Read more...
We've said it before and we'll say it again -- the netbook market isn't going anywhere, tablet PCs be damned. In fact, the netbook sector grew by two models today, courtesy of Toshiba, which just released the Mini NB500 and NB520. The more exciting of the bunch is the NB520, which features "the world's smallest Harman/Kardon speakers on a... Read more...
When you're talking hard drives, a couple of things really matter: size, reliability, and security. When you're in the enterprise, security matters more than most, and Toshiba understands that. The company has just revealed a new self-encrypting drive that's designed to Trusted Computing Group's "Oval" specification. The drive will have a... Read more...

Could it be? Another tablet? Of course, it's the year of the tablet! The next in line to pump out their best anti-iPad effort is Toshiba, with the Folio 100 actually being one of the slicker units that we have seen recently. This is another Android-based tablet, presumably to go head-to-head with Samsung's Galaxy Tab. For now, it's only shipping... Read more...
It's official, the iPad is a success. Of course, we already knew that (it kind of helps when you have the market virtually all to yourself), but the iPad may be an even bigger boon to Apple's bottom line than we thought. According to DisplaySearch, Apple's magical slate has helped the Cupertino firm gain significant... Read more...

Haven't you heard? Companies are making 3D laptops now! We know that's a bit tongue-in-cheek, but the rash of 3D notebooks is becoming somewhat overwhelming. At first, NVIDIA's 3D Vision was almost exclusively reserved for the desktop. Now, it seems like a new 3D capable notebook is arriving every other week or so. Toshiba is keeping the roll...
