Acer held a global press conference yesterday at 4 World Trade Center in New York City, to reveal a wide array of new products. Acer showed off everything from a fitness-related wearables, to a bicycle-mounted computer, new smartphones, ultra-portables, and gaming PCs. Acer is hoping to make a splash in the ultraportable market with its brand new Switch Alpha 12 2-in-1 notebook. Unlike some other thin and light machine that make use of Skylake-based Core m3, m5 and m7 processors, the Switch Alpha 12 goes for the throat with Core i3, i5, and i5 processors featuring more performance at the expense of greater heat output. However, Acer has an answer for the heat production in the form of its LiquidLoop cooling system. Ultrabooks and tablets running Core M/m processors have traditionally been able to do so while remaining fanless.
