As far the reliability of leaks go, this latest one comes directly from AMD, by way of a Reddit post—forum user "juggies" posted a link to documents and marketing materials on AMD's Marketing Asset Resource System (MARS) for the Radeon RX 5500, and apparently AMD is positioning the card as a faster option than rival NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 1650. A newly leaked batch of press renders is making the rounds, and the speculation is they show XFX's upcoming Radeon RX 5500 THICC II graphics card. That has not been confirmed, but this batch of renders looks different than recently leaked ones that showed XFX's also upcoming Radeon RX 5700 XT THICC III model. The Radeon RX 5500 is the newest member of AMD's growing Navi family of graphics cards. Earlier today, AMD launched desktop and mobile versions of its new mainstream 7nm Navi-based Radeon RX 5500 Series. In our initial story, we briefly touched on the MSI Alpha 15, which will be the first gaming laptop to ship with the Radeon RX 5500M graphics cards. Now, MSI is officially announcing the Alpha 15, and is giving us all of the pertinent specs on its new 15-inch gaming monster. Not long after recent rumors of incoming entry-level Navi-based Radeon graphics cards started making the rounds, AMD has made an official announcement of its new Radeon RX 5500 family. As its naming implies, these new graphics cards will slot in beneath the existing Radeon RX 5700 family. AMD is making available two version of the Radeon RX 5500: the Radeon RX 5500 Series for desktops and the Radeon RX 5500M, which is the first 7nm Navi-based GPU for laptops.
