Apple catches a lot of flak for keeping its ecosystem so locked down and, at times, unnecessarily restrictive in functionality, but one thing that works in the company's favor is that nearly all iOS users are on the same page, so to speak. Users don't get to choose between tons of different hardware devices like they do in Android's world, and while that's a bummer -- a phablet sized iPhone would be groovy, for example -- the upside is that fragmentation hardly exists. Apple's update to iOS 7 is the most drastic change to its mobile platform in a long time, and for some users, it's downright sickening. Literally. If you've noticed that any of your iPhone wielding friends are looking green around the gills lately, it could be due to the subtle movements and zoom effects introduced in iOS 7, which some users have complained are making them nauseous. Apple has issued an update to iOS 7 to stomp out a bug that could allow intruders to effectively bypass the iPhone's Lock screen passcode and snoop around recently used applications, a user's photo gallery, and more. Also rolled into the iOS 7.0.2 update is the reintroduction of a Greek keyboard option for passcode entry. The Lock screen bug is the primary reason to grab the update straight away. Without it, an intruder need only swipe up on the Lock screen to enter the control center, open the alarm clock, and hold the phone's sleep button to bring up a prompt asking if they wish to shut down. Yesterday was a big day for Apple device owners. The Cupertino company released its much anticipated iOS 7 update, and if you managed to update your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad device, hopefully it went smoother for you than it did for Conan. Apple wasn't the only one dishing out new software, however. Coinciding with iOS 7, Amazon revamped its Kindle app, which the company says has been optimized for the newest version of iOS. The world isn't flat (no matter what The Flat Earth Society says), but the next major version of Apple's iOS platform might be. Those who have glimpsed iOS 7 say it features a redesigned user interface (UI) that new users will probably like, but note it could also be a little off putting to long-time users who are used to the way iOS currently looks. While Apple works feverishly to squash bugs in its 6-month-old iOS 6 software, rumors are already starting to spread about iOS 7, including talk of a delay. Take that with a grain of salt since Apple hasn't announced development of iOS 7 or provided a release date of any kind, but nevertheless it appears development has fallen a bit behind.
