Verizon is getting ready to bolster a couple of its 'unlimited' mobile phone plans with another entertainment perk. Starting tomorrow (May 25), subscribers to Verizon's Play More and Get More unlimited plans will be eligible for a free year of either Apple Arcade or Google Play Pass, both of which normally run $4.99 per month. That works out to a nearly $60 value, when all is said and done. Apple Arcade and Google Play Pass are similar, in that they both offer up a large selection of games without annoying in-game ads or in-game purchases. Google has launched its Google Play Pass, its competition to Apple Arcade. Android users can register right now for the service, and for a limited time, it will cost $1.99 per month for the first year, and then it will cost $4.99 per month. Google is offering a free ten-day trial to get gamers hooked. Play Pass has a wide range of games for mobile gamers to enjoy along with apps. Games include a range of titles including classics that are top sellers on the Google Play platform. When Apple announced its monthly subscription gaming service called Apple Arcade, everyone expected Google to launch its own similar service. It's taken Google some time to launch a competing service, but it seems that service is here. Google is now testing a service called Google Play Pass. Google's Play Pass service calls out access to games and apps indicating it won't just be an arcade offering. The app images are from the signup page allegedly seen by an unnamed reader and sent to Android Police. The signup page offers a subscribe link and calls out a monthly fee of $4.99.
