Razer's Blade Stealth ultraportable is getting a big upgrade, and we must say that it's looking pretty good. The notebook has gotten a chassis redesign with smaller bezels to the left and right of the 13.3-inch Micro Edge display. Those bezels now measure 4.9mm thin, although you will still find a larger bezel at the top of the display (which is also home to an IR camera that supports Windows Hello) and an absolutely massive bezel below the display. With that being said, customers can opt for a Full HD matte display (100% sRGB color space) or a 4K panel (also 100% sRGB). When it comes to graphics power, this is the first time that Razer is giving the Blade Stealth the power of discrete graphics.... Read more...
Earlier this month, ASUS launched the ZenBook Flip 14 convertible complete with 8th generation Intel Core processors and a discrete NVIDIA GeForce MX150 GPU. Today, the company is extending those hardware goods to a more traditional laptop form-factor with the ZenBook 13 UX331. The ZenBook 13 UX331 is an all-new laptop for ASUS, and is being described as the "world's thinnest laptop with discrete graphics." Like the ZenBook Flip 14, the ZenBook 13 makes use of a 8th generation Core processor; in this case, the Core i5-8250. Likewise, the GeForce MX150 GPU is also carried over to this ultraportable laptop. The Pascal-based GPU outputs to a 13.3-inch 1920x1080 NanoEdge touchscreen display (178-degree... Read more...
ASUS is an ardent believer in 2-in-1 convertibles, and that commitment is exemplified by the ZenBook Flip family. The company is expanding the range with the addition of the ZenBook Flip 14, which combines 8th generation Intel Core muscle with discrete graphics from NVIDIA. Powering the ZenBook Flip 14 are 8th generation Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processors. The base machine comes with a Core i5-8250U, while the upgraded model comes with the Core i7-8550U -- both are quad-core processors and are paired with either 8GB or 16GB of LPDDR3 memory. As its name implies, the ZenBook Flip 14 features a 14-inch multi-touch, with a Full HD resolution (1920x1080). ASUS boats that this NanoEdge display has... Read more...
Xiaomi is taking aim at one of the most popular notebooks families on the market with its newest offering, the Mi Notebook Pro. In fact, Xiaomi called out the MacBook Pro by name when announcing its latest computing powerhouse, and made many comparisons to Apple's bestseller. At first glance, the Mi Notebook has a lot going for it. It features a 15.6-inch display, backlit keyboard, and enough ports to make a MacBook Pro user blush. You'll find two USB-C ports, two USB 3.0 ports, an SD card reader, HDMI port and a headphone jack. For comparison, the 15-inch MacBook Pro comes with four Thunderbolt 3 ports. You can now forget about carrying port extensions just because.. you know, we've got it all!... Read more...
For lightweight gaming and content creation chores such as photo and video editing on the go, pouring funds into a laptop with a high-end graphics chip is overkill. Even a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti can quite a bit more powerful than what some people need. To address that market, NVIDIA has gone and added a new mobile Pascal GPU to its lineup, the GeForce MX150. Hardcore gamers looking to crank up the visual quality settings in the most demanding games will want to look elsewhere, but for users who need more oomph that what integrated graphics provide, the GeForce MX150 is NVIDIA's answer. It is built on the same 16-nanometer FinFET manufacturing process as other Pascal GPUs, and as such it brings with... Read more...
