Faraday Future is off to a seemingly promising start with its recently unveiled FF 91 electric vehicle. While its design may come off to some as somewhat of an amalgam of a hatchback, crossover and minivan, it appears that plenty of people are interested in getting their hands on a 1000+ horsepower people mover. The Chinese company took to its Facebook page to announce that it received over 64,000 reservations for the vehicle in less than 36 hours. It should be noted, however, that you can “reserve” a FF 91 without actually putting down a deposit. The company also offers a refundable $5,000 priority reservation that makes you eligible to upgrade your order to an “Alliance Edition” FF 91. Unfortunately,... Read more...
Scoot your booty Tesla, and make room for Faraday Future, an electric vehicle startup headquartered in California that just announced its first production automobile. Faraday Future unveiled its FF 91 at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas and has even started taking reservations for it at $5,000 (fully refundable) a pop. The first 300 orders will have the option in a couple of months to upgrade their pre-order to join an exclusive launch series dubbed the Alliance Edition. Faraday Future describes the FF 91 as a "bold new breed of electric mobility that combines supercar performance, precise handling, the comfort of an ultra-luxury passenger vehicle, and a unique collection of intelligent... The company has spread its wings into the popular crossover segment with the Model X, and it is now looking to go mainstream with the Model 3. Tesla may be “winning” now, but competitors are quickly catching up with viable EVs of their own. Take for example LeEco, the parent company of Faraday Future, and often referred to as “China’s Netflix”. LeEco today presented its vision of a high-end EV with the unveiling of the LeSee ahead of its official debut at the Beijing Auto Show. The LeSee is being billed as a direct rival to the Model S and is... Read more...
This is the stuff that dreams are made of. Tesla Motors has dazzled the enthusiast community with its dual-motor Model S P85D, which delivers nearly 700hp of all-wheel drive goodness and rips off 0-60 runs in less than three seconds. However, a new company is entering the fray with an electric supercar concept that could easily blow the doors off a “garden variety” P85D. The Faraday Future FFZero1 is built on a modular Variable Platform Architecture (VPA), which allows the company to produce many types of vehicles with varying wheelbases and tracks. VPA also allows for front-, rear- or all-wheel-drive configurations along with one-, two- or even three-motor powertrain layouts. In... Read more...
