Ashton Kutcher has been a product ambassador for Lenovo for just over two years now; or as his official title says, Product Engineer. In the past, Kutcher has been extremely hyped about helping to develop the Yoga family of Android-powered tablets, and now his area of expertise is expanding to smartphones. More specifically, we should mention that Kutcher is extolling the benefits of Motorola’s latest range of smartphones.  According to Kutcher, he will be spending much of 2016 in the Moto labs, listening to customer feedback in an effort to help develop future generations of Moto smartphones. “The mobile phone is stuck. It's locked into a form factor and function that is not fully respectful... Read more...
There are few things that will strike fear in the heart of even the toughest son of a gun. One is looking over your schedule and discovering your next game is against the New England Patriots (just ask the Steelers, Bills, Jaguars, Cowboys, Colts, and Jets about that). And the second? That moment of horror when a smartphone slips from your grip and heads towards the pavement. Murphy's Law dictates that it's going to land glass side down, and at best, you'll be left with a functioning phone behind a shattered display. That's why the launch of Motorola's shatterproof Droid Turbo 2 earlier this week was so special. Armed with what you might assume is a glass variant of alligator skin and Kevlar... Read more...
Update, 5:00PM 10/27/15 - Fresh back from Moto's New York event, we have udpated this piece with some hands-on views of the new Droid Turbo 2 flagship. We’ve seen leaks and teasers for Motorola’s new Droid Turbo 2 Android flagship for weeks. However, the Lenovo-owned company today officially announced the smartphone, which is bringing two headlining features to the table: a long-running battery and a new shatterproof display. Starting with the battery, its rated capacity is 3760mAh and allows the Droid Turbo 2 to operate for up to 48 hours per charge. And if that wasn’t enough, Motorola has incorporated Quick Charging support which allows the Droid Turbo 2 to achieve 13 hours of battery life... Read more...
Verizon can hardly contain its excitement over a new flagship that's coming its way. That flagship is the Droid Turbo 2, and while we'll get a full look at the handset during a joint press event between Verizon and Motorola next week, the wireless carrier posted a teaser video on Twitter that provides a clear view of the backside. The Droid Turbo 2 is shown falling in slow motion to the pavement, display side down, which would normally result in a cracked screen and a few obscenities, Presumably the Droid Turbo 2 will be able to withstand such a torture test, hence why Verizon is pitching the handset as "the perfect phone for imperfect people." If you're the type that's prone to dropping your... Read more...
Motorola reportedly has two smartphones on tap for a special event to be held on October 27th. The first of the two smartphones, both of which are destined for Verizon Wireless, is the Droid Maxx 2. We’ve talked about the Droid Maxx 2 on a few occasions here at HotHardware, and it is essence just a rebadged version of the Moto X Play that was released globally earlier this year. That means you’ll find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with 2GB of RAM, a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 21MP rear camera, and a long-running 3630 mAh battery (which Motorola claims can last up to 48 hours per charge).  But the second device, the Droid Turbo 2, is perhaps the most interesting.
