Scientists from the University of California San Diego have created the ultimate contact lens. The new contacts seem like something straight out of science fiction, as they are able to zoom in on your surrounding with the blink of an eye. Perhaps we should say more accurately; with a double-blink of the eye. The soft contact lenses are capable of measuring what's called the electrooculographic signal of each eye, and can in turn use those signals to manipulate the contact lens. In order to combat crime in a world dominated by technology, the Secret Service has announced the opening of the National Computer Forensic Institute. The institute, to be built in Hoover, Alabama, is scheduled to open in 2008. The plan is to turn out about 900 computer forensic law enforcement officers each year. Oh baby, glorious bandwidth! Serial Attached SCSI or "SAS" as it is commonly known, has been around for a while but it certainly hasn't taken off, especially in the Desktop space, like Serial ATA (SATA). GamePC, one of our favorite places for serious technical analysis and a highly underrated site, takes a look at a pair of Seagate SAS drives and compares them to WD's 10K RPM Raptor drives. IBM's DDRS34560D - 4.5 Gig Ultra 2 SCSI LVD Drive SCSI for the masses! SCSI, use to conjure up memories of difficult set up and lots of time spent tweaking with settings in the SCSI BIOS trying to get a drive to run at peak performance.
