We knew CES would be loaded with tablets, and that foreshadowing has proven correct so far. They're definitely a major part of this year's show, and Velocity Micro is bringing not just one, but three total tablets to the show. There's a 7", 8" and 10" version, all of which are expected to ship in late Q1 2011. All three are joining the Cruz family, and they'll ship with either Android 2.2 or Android 2.3 depending on which is available at the time of launch. The 7" model (Cruz Tablet L37) has a 1024 x 600 capacitive touch screen, and is roughly the same size as Samsung's Galaxy Tab. Velocity Micro introduced a new line of Android-based color eReaders and tablets called Cruz. The new $199 Cruz Reader offers a 7-inch touch screen display, accelerometer, support for the Borders E-book library portal application, and plenty of multimedia features. The $299Cruz Tablet has the same multimedia capabilities as the Cruz Reader but also features more built-in storage and a multi-touch screen. Finally, the new Cruz StoryPad targets kids with its touch screen, interactive content, and intuitive interface. The StoryPad runs $149.
