If you need any further confirmation that the Call of Duty is still serious business for Activision Blizzard, look no further than these latest figures that are rolling in regarding the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops III. The game managed to generate in excess of $550 million worldwide within three days of its launch. Activision Blizzard proudly proclaimed that its three-day tally allowed it to become the biggest entertainment launch of 2015, surpassing that of Jurassic World. However, that’s not exactly fair, given that each copy of Black Ops III costs at least $59.99, far surpassing the price of a movie ticket. Attending midnight releases for popular video games has become somewhat of a tradition in recent years, though not everyone enjoys the experience of trucking out in the cold (I live in the mid-west folks, and yes, it's chilly this time of year) to stand in a long line. Amazon understands your plight and, depending on where you live, is offering midnight delivery for Call of Duty: Black Ops III. Well, it's sort of midnight delivery. Yes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I have no doubt some will call me crazy for dissing on the PS4's themed makeover. The rest, however, will agree that that this is one fugly machine. Hide the kids and have a look, starting with the controller (it's best if we ease... Read more...
The next installment in the Call of Duty series now has an official launch date: November 6. It’s a rather interesting date because November 6 is actually on a Friday, which is more typical of a new movie release than the usual Tuesday that is more common for new music and video game releases. Regardless of its launch date, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be available on both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles as well as PC. There’s no word yet on when gamers still rocking a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 will have the honor of picking up the game, but that information will come in due time. It should also be noted that eager gamers will also be able to gain access to a beta of Black Ops 3 ahead... Read more...
