We’ve been talking quite a bit about the SHIELD TV over the past few weeks, but that’s mainly been in relation to a rumored hardware refresh that is in the works. Today, however, NVIDIA did make a pretty big announcement regarding the SHIELD TV, but it pertains to the software that the 4K media streamer runs. NVIDIA has announced the availability of SHIELD Experience Upgrade 8.0, which is rolling out now to all SHIELD TV owners. The big news with this update is the arrival of the Android TV experience based on Android Pie. This comes roughly a year after NVIDIA delivered Android Oreo to SHIELD TV users. Let's face it; not everyone needs to buy a flagship smartphone these days to check their email or browse the internet. Even "value-laden" flagships like the OnePlus 7 Pro start at $669. For those that can get by with much less, Motorola continues to crank out budget phones that can be had for well below $200.  The company's latest entry-level device is the sixth generation Moto E smartphone, aptly named the Moto E6. Given its low price, you won't find fancy aluminum or steel construction, but instead a highly durable plastic chassis that is splash resistant. When it comes to the display, there’s a 5.5-inch LCD with a lowly resolution of 1440x720 (18:9 ratio). Likewise,... Read more...

HMD Global should consider formally introducing its Nokia 9 PureView handset with a Penta-Lens camera system. We know it's coming, you know it's coming, and anyone who pays attention to these things knows it's coming. If anyone has any lingering doubt, though, just check out the latest leak, which is a promotional video highlighting the phone and its features. The promo video is just over a minute long. After a lengthy beta period where testers were able to give the Android 9 Pie-based OxygenOS 9.0 a try, OnePlus has announced that the production release of the operating system is available to download. Now before you all start rushing to the Settings app to initiate the OS update, we have to warn you that this rollout is being staged. OnePlus doesn't want everyone crowding its servers at once, and this will give the company a chance to catch any initial installation issues with a smaller sample size.  "The OTA will be received by a limited number of users today and will have a broader rollout in a few days... We’re creating tools and features that help people better understand their tech usage, focus on what matters most, disconnect... Read more...

And best of all, the final, production version of the operating system is available right now for those using Pixel devices. As for Google's OEM partners that participated in the Android P beta, they will have to wait a bit longer to deliver the final release of the operating system to supported devices.
