Dell is placing a big emphasis on gaming notebooks this year at CES, and it’s doing so with its own-branded Inspiron 7000 Series and the venerable Alienware notebook lineup. The Inspiron 14 and 15 7000 gaming notebooks are of course powered by the latest Intel Kaby Lake processors -- in this case, you have a choice of Core i5-7300HQ or Core i7-7700HQ processors. Systems come from the factory configured with 4GB to 16GB of RAM, but each supports up to 32GB. Dell also gives you plenty of options when it comes to display choices (14-inch or 15.6-inch), as you have two 1080p IPS panels to choose (anti-glare... Read more...
Dell's Alienware gaming PC division recently announced a refresh of their 13, 15 and 17 notebook product lines, starting with the introduction of their 15 and 17 inch models and more recently unchaining their smaller but just as scrappy 13-inch beast. While the new machines don't usher in Intel's latest Kaby Lake 7th Gen Core series processors (of which only dual-core variants are currently available), they are now packing NVIDIA Pascal firepower, with a GeForce GTX 1080, GeForce GTX 1070 and GeForce GTX 1060 powering the Alienware 17, 15 and 13 models respectively. It was a clean sweep for NVIDIA... Read more...

A name synonymous with PC gaming rigs is once again back in the fray with a new high-powered notebook. Today, Dell announced the all-new Alienware 13, which is being billed as the world’s first 13-inch class notebook with VR capabilities. The Alienware 13 may be the smallest notebook in the family (it’s even thinner than the previous generation), but it still packs quite a punch. The machine can be equipped with quad-core H-Series Intel Core processors (up to a Core i7-6700HQ) and most importantly, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 GPU. The notebook’s 13.3-inch display can be had in three resolutions:... Read more...
There's a first time for everything, as the saying goes, and the Alienware 13 OLED is a first for us without question. Though there were a couple of OLED (Organic LED) display driven laptops at CES 2016 this year, Dell's Alienware division is the first in the door here at HotHardware with a retail ready product. OLED displays offer better brightness, contrast, saturation and pixel response times versus legacy display types like IPS, and in in general they're more power efficient as well. OLED displays are somewhat common these days in smartphones and as it turns out, OLED-enabled handsets... Read more...
Update: 6/25/16 - Check out our full review and deep dive of the Alienware 13 OLED right here. Dell's Alienware 13 gaming notebook has been a favorite among gamers on the go and power users that want a little more horsepower in a light, 13-inch machine. However, over the past couple of years, the Alienware team hasn't changed-up the design much, until today that is. The company is officially making the OLED display powered Alienware 13, that we saw back in January at CES, available today in conjunction with the E3 show out in LA. Our initial impressions in the short time we've had the system... Read more...

Last week, Dell surprised us all with the introduction of its pimptastic Alienware 18 notebook, which features — as its name implies — an 18-inch display (unfortunately, it’s only 1080p resolution). And earlier today, Dell whipped out an updated Alienware X51, which has been decked out with overclocked Intel Skylake processors, liquid cooling, and some extremely powerful graphics options from NVIDIA and AMD. But that’s not all, there are also a few more updates to Alienware’s product portfolio. Dell has refreshed its Alienware 13, 15 and 17 with “over 20 updates and upgrades” to keep the gaming...
