This past weekend, the HotHardware team hit up PAX East in Boston, Massachusetts. We could not leave without checking out the MSI booth. We were fortunate enough to have Lenny Tang, associate marketing manager of MSI, give us a tour of the company’s latest Camo Squad limited edition gaming laptops, motherboards and graphics cards. MSI’s Camo Squad designed gaming products are being brought to market by the company in honor of the release of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands. To go along with Intel’s Kaby Lake refresh, MSI has revised its gaming desktops, making slight tweaks that will be appreciated by gamers. The changes affect the Aegis, Nightblade and Trident series, all of which are rocking GeForce GTX 10-Series graphics cards. Design-wise, the Aegis now includes a handy headset holder on the side along with a carbon fiber-esque pattern that is applied sparingly to the front of the chassis. The Curiosity Mars rover now has a license to shoot at will -- the rover can now autonomously target rocks without human permission or control. Curiosity uses ChemCam, a software developed at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, California. It is designed to study the chemical makeup of rocks and soil on Mars. It zaps rocks with a laser and then analyzes the gases that are released from the impact. ChemCam has fired more than 350,000 lasers at about 10,000 points since landing on Mars in 2012.ChemCam is now accompanied by Autonomous Exploration for Gathering Increased Science or AEGIS.
