ViewSonic To Launch First 7-Inch Honeycomb Tablet
If reports from "reliable sources" are to be believed, pocket-lint is claiming ViewSonic will introduce the world's first 7-inch Honeycomb tablet at Computex at the end of this month. The ViewSonic ViewPad 7x will be a new Android tablet in the company's lineup. It will sit above the current 7-inch ViewPad 7 but it won't replace it.
The new ViewPad 7x will sport Google's tablet-friendly Android OS, better known as Honeycomb. Assuming ViewSonic launches the tablet at Computex, it will likely be the first 7-inch tablet announced with this OS. In addition to Honeycomb, the ViewPad 7x is expected to sport a dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 chip as well as two cameras (front- and rear-facing), and HSPA+ connectivity. The tablet is said to weigh 380 grams (about 0.84 pounds) and will also offer DLNA and HDMI support.
The tablet will reportedly hit stores in June. If this timeframe proves true, the ViewPad 7x will give the HTC Flyer a run for its money, especially if HTC doesn't issue a Honeycomb update before then.
