Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection Heads To PS4 In 1080p60 Glory

If you were bummed that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has been delayed until 2016, Sony has a bit of a consolation prize for Nathan Drake fans. Sony today took to its PlayStation Blog to announced that the original trilogy for the PlayStation 3 — Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception — are being rereleased as Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection for the PlayStation 4.

Since series creator Naughty Dog has its hands tied trying to finish up A Thief’s End, it turned to none other than the pros at Bluepoint Games to remaster the all three games to look even better give the PS4’s more capable hardware. As a result, you’ll find vastly improved lighting, textures, and new character models along with new features like a Photo Mode and trophies. And perhaps most importantly, all three games will run in 1080p resolution at 60fps.

You can pre-order Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection today, and it will available on October 9. And there’s one additional bonus for those that pickup this remastered title: exclusive access to the multiplayer beta of A Thief’s End once it becomes available.

And speaking of A Thief’s End, Amazon has spilled the beans on at least one aspect of the upcoming game: its cover:

A Thief’s End picks up three years following the events of Uncharted 3 and sees our hero dragged back into the fortune hunting business when his brother Sam, long presumed dead, comes to his doorstep asking for help. You can’t turn down family, right?
