Ultra Products Introduces New Line of Energy Efficient Power Supplies

New X-Pro, X-Finity, and X3 series' will convert at least 80% of AC power into DC power, making for cooler, quieter performance across the board

FLETCHER, OH - January 15th, 2006 - Ultra Products, has announced the launch of a new line of energy efficient (EE) power supplies that convert at least 80% of AC power into DC power, making for cooler, quieter performance across the board. Most power supplies on the market today only convert 70-80% of AC to DC. The new line of energy-efficient power supplies will include the 600W, 800W, and 1000W X-Pro EE series, the 600W, 800W, and 1000W X-Finity EE series, and the 600W, 800W, and 1000W X3 EE modular series. The complete line of products will be available by the first quarter this year.

The new EE power supplies are also smaller than most competitive products making them easy to install and fit into most cases. The 600W PSU's are only 6" deep while the 800W and 1000W's are just 6.5" deep. Some current 1000W PSU's are as much as 9" deep making for difficult integration.

Highlights of the new Ultra EE power supply line include...

  • Flex-Force Cabling (X-Finity series) - Specially engineered FlexForce cable design promotes easy cable management and 30% better airflow than ordinary cables by allowing easy cable routing under the motherboard, behind drive bays... anywhere that gets typically unsightly power supply cables out of the way of airflow.

  • Modular Design (X3 EE series) - Patented technology helps reduce clutter by using only the cables you need. This not only increases airflow within the case, but it gives the inside of the case a clean professional look.

  • Power Protection - Short circuit protection, in-rush current protection, and thermal overload cutoff protection - covering all protection needs for your system.

  • Warranty - Register your product online and receive a lifetime warranty.

Marco's interest in computing and technology dates all the way back to his early childhood. Even before being exposed to the Commodore P.E.T. and later the Commodore 64 in the early ‘80s, he was interested in electricity and electronics, and he still has the modded AFX cars and shop-worn soldering irons to prove it. Once he got his hands on his own Commodore 64, however, computing became Marco's passion. Throughout his academic and professional lives, Marco has worked with virtually every major platform from the TRS-80 and Amiga, to today's high end, multi-core servers. Over the years, he has worked in many fields related to technology and computing, including system design, assembly and sales, professional quality assurance testing, and technical writing.
