Toshiba’s Back-to-School Windows 10 Notebooks Include Dedicated Cortana Key

Toshiba is hitting the reset button on its notebook lineup and is launching a slew of new back-to-school products that have been designed with Windows 10 in mind. Toshiba’s Windows 10 focus comes in the form of a dedicated Cortana key and built-in TruTalk dual-array mics across the entire range to provide quick and competence performance with Microsoft’s voice assistant.

As for the notebooks, the new or updated models include the Satellite C Series, L Series, S Series, Satellite Fusion, and Satellite Radius. The Satellite C Series is aimed at everyday users and is available with 15.6- and 17.3-inch HD displays, Intel or AMD power, brushed resin black matte finish, TruType keyboard, up to 1TB of HDD space, up to 8GB of RAM, Skullcandy audio, and **ahem** a DVD SuperMulti drive. The C Series starts at $394.

The L Series is aimed at media junkies and also includes notebooks with either 15.6- or 17.3-inch displays, however, display resolution has been bumped to Full HD. You’ll also find both AMD and Intel processor like the C Series, but the maximum amount of RAM that can be installed is a more generous 16GB. Other than the display and RAM, specs for the L Series are very similar to the C Series. The 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch L Series laptops start at $529.99 and $569.99 respectively.

The S Series is also available in 15.6- and 17.3-inch form-factors, but includes three screen resolutions to choose from: 4K Ultra HD (3840x2160), Full HD (1920x1080), or HD+ (1600x900). The S Series is powered exclusively by fifth generation dual- and quad-core Intel Core processors, supports up to 16GB of RAM, and optional NVIDIA discrete graphics. You can also option the machines with up to a 2TB HDD or a with a 1TB HDD paired with a 128GB SSD. The 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch L Series laptops start at $719.99 and $874.99 respectively.

Moving on, the 2-in-1 Satellite Fusion convertible features a 15.6-inch Full HD display with a 360-degree “Flip-and-Fold” hinge design. The Fusion is powered by fifth generation Intel Core processor, supports up to 12GB of RAM and can be equipped with up to a 1TB HDD or a 128GB SSD. You’ll also find an LED-backlit TruType keyboard and a body that is finished in Satin Gold. The Satellite Fusion is priced from $649.99.

The Satellite Radius family of convertibles will be available in three models: Radius 14, Radius 15, and the 15.6-inch Radius 15 4K Ultra HD Edition. The Radius family can be configured with fifth generation Intel Core or AMD processor, and will be made available exclusively for purchase from Best Buy. The Satellite Radius 14 and Satellite Radius 15 have a starting price of $584.99 while the Satellite Radius 15 4K Ultra HD Edition starts at $842.99.

All announced models (with the exception of the S Series) will be available to purchase on June 21 and will ship with Windows 8.1. The S Series will ship on July 29 with Windows 10 preinstalled. All other Satellite models will receive a free upgrade to Windows 10 on July 29.
