Toshiba Announces New Tablets, Notebooks, and an AIO - Haswell, Tegra 4 and GeForce 7 Series Inside

Toshiba is the latest PC maker to let us know all the details of its newly-refreshed line of devices, and the company’s lineup consists of tablets, notebooks, and an all-in-one.

There’s a trio of 10.1-inch tablets, actually--the Excite Pro, Excite Write, and Excite Pure. The Excite Pro ($499.99) and Excite Write ($599.99) feature PixelPure (2560x1600) displays, NVIDIA Tegra 4 processors, Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), 2GB of DDR3 RAM, and 32GB of onboard storage. They also offer Harman Kardon speakers with DTS Premium Voice Pro; 8MP rear cameras; and ports including micro HDMI, micro USB, and micro SD. The Excite Write also comes with a pressure-sensitive Toshiba TruPen and accompanying TruNote app.

The little brother of the three, the Excite Pure, lists for $299.99 and offers a display resolution of 1280x800 with an NVIDIA Tegra 3 chip, Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), 1GB of DDR3 RAM, 16GB of onboard storage, a 3MP rear camera, and stereo speakers; it has the same ports as the other two tablets. Toshiba also has an optional Bluetooth keyboard cover available that features a raised tile keyboard and ability to prop the tablets up.

Toshiba’s new AIO is the PX35t, which has a 23-inch (Full HD 1080p) 10-finger multitouch display with Intel Core i3, i5, or i7 Haswell processors (and appears to rely on Intel HD graphics instead of a discrete GPU). There’s also 16GB of RAM, a 1TB (7200RPM) hard drive, integrated DVD drive, Harman Kardon stereo speakers. Ports include HDMI in, USB 2.0 (x4), and USB 3.0 (x2). The PX35t comes packing speech recognition software as well as a mouse and raised-tile keyboard, and the MSRP is $1,029.99.

There are several new SKUs in Toshiba’s Satellite line of notebooks, including multiple display sizes in the S-, P-, L-, and C-series. The top-of-the-line 17.3-inch P series Satellite notebook (starts at $754.99) offers 4th-gen Intel Core processors, NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M (2GB) graphics, 32GB of DDR3L RAM, and up to a 1TB storage drive. The Full HD display also has touchscreen capabilities.

A notch down, the S-series Satellites (starts at $699.99) appear to have the same CPU and GPU options with a maximum of 16GB of RAM; it comes in 14-, 15.6-, and 17.3-inch display sizes. L-series Satellites (starts at $699.99), which have the same display size options, give users the option of Intel Core or AMD APU processors, as well as up to 1TB of storage and 8GB of DDR3 RAM. If you just need the basics, you can opt for a C-series Satellite (starts at $499.99), which has 15.6- or 17.3-inch display sizes and runs on Intel Celeron/Pentium/Core i3 or AMD E series or A4 chips.

Finally, in addition to the Satellite family of notebooks, Toshiba announced the Qosmio X75 enthusiast-class laptop, which starts at $1,399.99. The device features a quad-core Core i7 (Haswell) CPU, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770M (3GB) GPU, up to 32GB of RAM, and storage configurations up to 1.25TB with a mix of HDD and SSD options. The X75 boasts a 17.3-inch Full HD display, four Harman Kardon speakers, a Blu-ray player, and a brushed aluminum chassis with red accents and an LED-backlit keyboard with numpad.
