T-Mobile's Revenue Declines Despite Customer Growth in Q4
"T-Mobile finished 2012 on a strong note, providing a foundation for executing even bigger game-changing moves in 2013," said John Legere, President and CEO of T-Mobile USA. "As the 'Un-carrier', our promise is simple. You will see us put customers at the center of everything we do going forward, and that means giving them fair and simple wireless experiences in a way that other carriers never have before.
"T-Mobile continues to make significant progress executing the five elements of its Challenger Strategy, the Company‘s playbook for challenging the industry status quo with a disruptive approach."
The wireless carrier's Value plans are proving popular, with 1.3 million customers choosing one during the fourth quarter. T-Mobile now has more than 6 million customers subscribed to a Value plan. At the same time, customers are paying more for their contracts overall as a result of "Monthy4G" plans. The average revenue per user (ARPU) was $27.69 in Q4, up 11.2 percent year-on-year, the wireless carrier said.
