Tesla Met With BMW This Week Following Bold Patent Open Sourcing
As part of its push to promote electric cars, Tesla also met with BMW this week to both promote electric cars and discuss how to better use Tesla’s charging stations. No other details of the talks were revealed, but a BMW spokesperson told Reuters that “Both companies are strongly committed to the success of electro-mobility and discussed how to further strengthen the development of electro-mobility on an international level.”

BMW is one of several car companies that has agreed to work with Tesla, but in tandem with the surprising news about Tesla’s patents this week, it seems that Elon Musk’s vision of an internal combustion-less automotive future is looking a bit more realistic.
There’s a long way to go obviously, but Tesla is making the right moves, and the company has in its favor the fact that it makes a lot of sense to go with electric vehicles over gas-powered ones. Car companies have long been myopic about electric vehicles, so it’s deeply refreshing to see that they’re taking a stronger interest.
