The new headset promises impeccable sound quality, integrated control capabilities, and enhanced design for greater comfort and improved passive noise reduction, with the new version boast an “invisible” retractable microphone system that pulls out from the left ear-cup, allowing for a more convenient and travel-friendly headset especially for tournament players.
These also feature larger 50mm speakers for enhanced bass response and an improved frequency response of 10 to 28000Hz. The earcups are built from sound dampening foam to increase outside noise isolation, which could certainly prove useful during a heated LAN party when other shooters nearby. In fact, the leather ear cups are thicker than the originals, and the volume regulator, the cord and its base have also been upgraded; the primary cord is shorter in length for optimized use with portable gear and comes with an additional extra cord for use with stationary computers.
The Siberia v2 will be offered in two versions (with and without a USB soundcard), but we'll have to wait until they ship worldwide in November before finding out a price.
