Sony Ericsson Hatches First-Ever Android Phone: XPERIA X10
At any rate, the big thing that SE has been missing is Android support, and that's exactly what it's getting today with the introduction of the XPERIA X10. Launched today over in London, the smartphone is the company's flagship device and will ship with Android 1.6 (Donut). Unfortunately, Android 2.0 is already out on Motorola's DROID, so yet again it looks like SE will be lagging behind the competition.
Still, SE is hoping to gain attention by offering up a gorgeous touch panel, a "UX" user experience, loads of social networking support built-in, an 8.1MP camera, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, A-GPS and a 4" LCD with an 854 x 480 resolution. The full specifications are pasted below, and while no price is given, it's expected to ship in Q1 2010.
