Sony Ericcson Ships Android-Based XPERIA X8 And Cedar Feature Phone
The X8 is the obvious highlight. It's an Android-based smartphone with a 3.2MP camera; SE calls this their "most affordable Sony Ericsson Android phone ever." Wi-Fi and 3G support is still included, and it also has GPS, Google Maps and Android 1.6. That's definitely an older build, but Android 2.1 is planned as an update later in the year.
The Cedar is in the company's line of GreenHeart phones, and it's built using an SE operating system that is also found on the W995, Elm, and Hazel. It's a more basic messaging phone, so smartphone addicts should look elsewhere. No pricing is being made public for either, though.
