Samsung Upgrades Series 7 Notebook with Ivy Bridge

A translated press release revealed that Samsung was busy readying an upgraded Series 7 notebook with Ivy Bridge internals for the Korean market, but lo and behold, a product page just popped up in the U.S. We don't know when the new models will start shipping -- and perhaps some stores are already carrying them -- but we do have the skinny on the upgraded specs.

First and foremost, the Series 7 is a 17.3-inch laptop wrapped in a sleek and skinny aluminum shell. It features an LED-backlit display with a Full HD 1920x1080 screen resolution and 300 nit brightness.

Other features include an Intel Core i7 3615QM processor clocked at 2.3GHz, 8GB DDR3 memory, NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M GPU (Kepler) with 2GB GDDR5 memory, 1TB hard drive, slot-loading DVD burner, 1.3MP webcam, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, WiDi, Bluetooth, GbE LAN, JLB speakers with subwoofer, HDMI, 2 x USB 3.0 ports, 2 x USB 2.0 ports, 4-in-1 media card reader, 8-cell battery, and Windows 7.

According to Samsung's product page, this little puppy will run $1,500 MSRP.
