Samsung Schedules Galaxy Note II Press Event for October 24
Samsung has begun sending out invites for its Galaxy Note II press event in the U.S., which will take place in New York on October 24, just under two weeks from now. The Galaxy Note II, or "the next big thing," as Samsung likes to refer to it, is hardly a secret at this point, but what remains a mystery are pricing details and specific carrier launch dates.
The event will also include a "special performance by an award-winning musical artist," presumably one that doesn't own an iPhone 5.
As for what we already know about the device, the Galaxy Note II will be available through AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, and U.S. Cellular by mid-November. It will come rocking a 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display, Samsung Exynos 1.6GHz quad-core processor optimized for LTE networks, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard storage, a microSD card slot, 3,100 mAh battery (24 percent larger than the original Galaxy Note), and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
