Samsung Rolls Out ‘GALAXY Apps’ Store Taking On Google Play

When it comes to Android apps, Google Play isn't the only option in town. There's of course Amazon's App Store, which isn't quite as fleshed out, and now a rebranded app store from Samsung with a heavy focus on Galaxy devices. As such, Samsung is now calling its app destination the Samsung Galaxy Apps store, and kicking off the relaunch are hundreds of apps exclusively available to Galaxy device owners.

According to Samsung, the remade store improves upon its predecessor, Samsung Apps, by featuring apps that will allow greater customization of mobile devices, while also functioning as a platform to offer various promotions and discounts.

"At Samsung, we continuously strive to create value for our customers by providing differentiated solutions and services coupled with innovative devices," said WonPyo Hong, President of the Media Solution Center at Samsung Electronics. "Samsung Galaxy Apps is an extension of that promise, as it offers our customers exclusive apps to enrich their experience."

There are three sections to Samsung Galaxy Apps -- Best Picks (find recommended apps and promotions), Top (most popular apps), and For Galaxy (exclusive to Galaxy devices).
