Samsung Cylindrical ArtPC Pulse Sports 360-Degree Audio, Mac Pro-Esque Design, Radeon Graphics

If you're looking for an upscale Windows PC with a cylindrical design reminiscent of the Mac Pro, you should definitely check out Samsung's spiffy looking ArtPC Pulse. It's equal parts form and function—it looks like a concept PC with a design that's about as far removed from the industrial looking beige boxes of yesteryear as you can get, and it has premium components to match.

We're surprised Samsung isn't making a bigger splash with this one. The same goes for Harman Kardon, which not only is in charge of 360-degree audio on the ArtPC Pulse, but its branding is displayed prominently on top above Samsung's (albeit with a smaller size font). Nevertheless, neither company has taken to a mountain top to shout the pre-order availability on Amazon.

The ArtPC Pulse is well equipped starting at $1,200 with free shipping for Prime members. It rocks a 6th Generation Intel Core i5 processor (Skylake) clocked at 2.4GHz paired with 8GB of DDR4 SO-DIMM memory and AMD Radeon RX 460 graphics with 2GB of onboard memory. A 256GB NVMe solid state drive handles storage chores.

For an additional $400, you can bump the configuration up to an Intel Core i7 processor with 16GB of DDR4 SO-DIMM RAM. There's also a 1TB hard drive (5,400 RPM) thrown in for bulk storage duties. Both configs come with Windows 10, an HDMI output, a USB 3.1 port, four USB 3.0 ports, GbE LAN, and an SD memory card reader.

"The Samsung art PC Pulse is a completely new type of computer. It features a gorgeous premium aluminum body with an exquisite expandable design. It's approximately 87 percent more compact compared to average desktop PCs, yet delivers a similar level of performance as bigger machines. This is more than just a PC. You can place it anywhere, whether it's your living room or your home office," the ArtPC Pulse's description reads on Amazon.

It's definitely an eye-catching design, and at 5.5 x 5.5 x 12.2 inches (LxWxH), it doesn't have a big footprint. We also dig the 360-degree omni-directional speaker design. That means regardless of where you place the ArtPC Pulse, you should be able to hear audio in all directions.
