Have you ever seen a laptop with an OLED display sell for less than $400? It's an unheard-of price point for an OLED laptop, but courtesy of Best Buy's 'Deal of the Day', HP's OmniBook 3 with its 14-inch OLED panel gets there, even if just by a penny before tax. Combined with a rated battery life of over 41 hours, this could be one of the standout laptop deals of the holiday shopping season before it even begins in earnest.

The laptop's 14-inch OLED screen features a 1920x1200 resolution, giving you a 16:10 aspect ratio that's well suited to web browsing, productivity, and watching videos. And being an OLED panel, you can expect inky blacks and vibrant colors. Even as OLED has come down in pricing (and continues to do so, in part because of increased competition), it's still a premium display tech that typically commands a higher price.
HP pairs the screen with Qualcomm's Snapdragon X processor with an 8-core CPU and integrated Adreno graphics. Elsewhere, the system sports 8GB of memory and a 256GB solid-state drive, just like Apple's baseline MacBook Neo.
The 8GB RAM capacity is the biggest compromise here. It should be fine for lighter workloads, but users who regularly keep lots of browser tabs open or run memory-hungry applications may want to consider stepping up to a configuration with more memory. Best Buy also lists a 16GB model with 256GB of storage for $599.99, or a 16GB RAM + 512GB storage config for $699.99 (save $100).
Beyond the display and rated battery life, connectivity on the HP OmniBook 3 is solid for an affordable laptop. You get two USB-C ports, two USB-A ports, an HDMI 2.1 output, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The system also supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 for wireless connectivity.
At $399.99, the HP OmniBook 3 is an appealing option for anyone who wants an OLED screen without spending a small fortune. Just keep the 8GB memory limitation in mind, especially since its soldered (read: not user upgradeable).
Here are a few more OLED laptop deals with a bit more firepower:
