NEC Plans To Reveal A Dual-screen Android Tablet At CES
NEC plans to show off a dual-screen tablet running on Android at the Consumer Electronics Show in January. According to reports, the new tablet will resemble the LifeTouch tablet that NEC announced last month for the Japanese market. The original LifeTouch tablet has a single 7-inch touchscreen.
The new tablet will have a pair of 7-inch touchscreens as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G connectivity. You'll be able to view different information on each display simultaneously. Additional details about the tablet such as the type of touchscreen (resistive or capacitive) and the version of Android used on the tablets are still unknown.
The LifeTouch tablet for the Japanese market is offered via service providers rather than directly to the consumer. It is intended to be used to access cloud-based services.
NEC also plans to launch an Android netbook with a physical keyboard at CES. The company will show off the single-screen LifeTouch Tablet as well.
