MTV and Swipe Launch MTV Volt Android Phablet in India

Swipe Telecom and MTV recently teamed up to announce a co-branded phablet in India known as the MTV Volt. This phablet features a 6-inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 854x480. The Volt runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and supports dual-SIM cards for 2G/3G, 2G GPRS / EDGE / HSPA.

You'll find a 1GHz dual-core processor as well as 512MB of RAM inside the MTV Volt. Other key specifications include an 8MP rear facing camera with flash, 1.3MP front-facing camera, GPS, and FM Radio with recording capabilities. The MTV Volt has 4GB of onboard storage and can be expanded to 32GB using a T Flash card.

The MTV Volt comes preloaded with a TV app that makes it easy to watch MTV on the go. The MTV Volt is priced at Rs 12,999 (about $242). Given the co-branding with MTV and the price, this phablet is definitely targeting a younger audience that wants to communicate, entertain, and socialize on their phones.
